One Saturday afternoon during the summer holidays, Marc Woods noticed his ankle looked unusually swollen. He put it down to the heat, or an off day, or maybe a knock playing football. But for seventeen-year-old Woods, a talented swimmer with dreams of a place on the Olympic team, an off day turned into an off year, and the swollen ankle turned out to be bone cancer.

Marc Woods lost his left leg below the knee - but 18 months after he finished chemotherapy he represented Great Britain in the Paralympics. As part of the British paralympic team he won four Gold medals, spanning five paralympics, as well as many other medals at both European and World championships.
